HOLZ
Concept study of a HOLZ kitchen: handleless walnut units, reeded-glass uppers and a backlit onyx panel, under pooled light.

The Art of Space

The room your lifegathers around.

HOLZ makes kitchens to measure across the UAE, and fits the rooms around them in the same material language. Everything is specified in writing before anything is built. The build and installation take 8–10 weeks from the confirmation point.

Concept study, drawn to HOLZ specification.

One way a room can hold light

The Library: dark walnut, deep stone, backlit onyx. Drawn to your room next.

The kitchens on this site are drawn, not photographed. The studio publishes the document a kitchen is built from, complete, and asks to be judged on that.

The kitchen's language, continued

Wardrobes, media walls, the working rooms: one material world, carried through the house.

Every HOLZ kitchen is drawn for one room and one household. The drawings name what goes into it, and why.

Read them before you commission anything.

Walkthrough, evening: the kitchen seen straight on, walnut units and reeded-glass uppers either side of a lit onyx panel.Walkthrough, the island: a dark stone top with white veining, its waterfall side, and the walnut run behind.Walkthrough, the sink run: set beneath the backlit onyx panel, reeded-glass uppers to each side.Walkthrough, morning: the same kitchen in daylight, the dark veined stone island, reeded-glass uppers, the onyx panel still lit.

Enter in the evening.

The island holds the room.

Millimetres, argued.

And then, morning. All concept studies →

Decided on paper first

Every hinge, shadow gap and run of stone is settled before anything is made, drawn from a documented library of movement, surface and light, each piece recorded by series and by how it behaves after years of use. What you approve is what arrives.

  • Runners specified for the loaded drawer, not the empty one
  • Stone chosen by how it fails, not how it photographs
  • The reveal held to one figure across the room
The materials

8–10 weeks, from the confirmation point

Six stages, each closing with something settled. The drawings run at your pace, on your approvals; the making, the fitting and the handover are the counted window.
